Iran, Austria ink agricultural cooperation document

December1, IFIF public relation- Iran`s Minister of Agriculture Mahmoud Hojjati announced that a comprehensive agricultural cooperation document was signed between Iran and Austria.
Hojjati said that this trip is in response of last year`s trip of Austrian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Environment Andra Rupperchter to Iran.
Referring to the developing ties between the two countries, Hojatti voiced that” There are various areas of cooperation relating to agricultural machinery, seed cultivation and animal husbandry between two countries.”
Moreover a delegation consist of private sector activists of agriculture, food industry and trade including Secretary General of Federation of Iranian Food Associations Kaveh Zargaran accompanied the minister.
Issues related to Iran's export of products in the fields of agriculture, pharmaceutical plants, food industry and commerce were also discussed.
“Austria Ministry of Agriculture has a fruitful cooperation with Iran, especially in the field of livestock and in this regard last year we could import Simmental cattle (an Austrian race of dairy cattle)”, Hojatti added.
Austria Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is also interested to cooperate with Iran in the fields of seeds, exchange of germplasm, and exchange of agricultural products.
Visiting the 'cattle farms' around the city of Vienna is the next program of Hojatti.
Last year a delegation from agriculture sector headed by Austrian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and the Environment travelled to Iran and visited The Institute of Medicinal Plants.
